September 2010
Friday, September 3 5-7pm, Charles Garratt Nature Patterns exhibit - Opening Reception. This expansive exhibit of
large photographs, lush with patterns of nature, is shown by Charles Garratt, a photographer whose work is found in
collections across the country. The photos follow various paths to explore nature and human nature. A slide show will
give away the secret of the kaleidoscopic abstracts during the opening.
Friday, September 10: 6-8pm, Kat & Travelers Concert. Enjoy some blues at OASIS! No cover charge.
October 2010
Friday, October 1: 5-8pm, Harrisonburg Museum & Gallery Walk. OASIS welcomes you noon through 8pm.
Friday, October 8: 6-9pm, OASIS 10th Anniversary Party to thank you in the community for your support
over the past ten years. Relax with jazz on horn and strings by Bishop Dansby and Bob Bersson, and refreshments and
beverages prepared by OASIS members. Dr. Ronald Carrier and Dr. Crystal Theodore speak at 7pm, followed by toasts
to honored guests and celebrity cutting of an artist-designed cake created by Carmen Rose. Free and open to the public.
November 2010
Monday, November 1: OASIS adds 6 hours each week to help you with holiday shopping. November and December,
the hours are Sunday-Thursday: 11am-5pm, Friday: 11am-8pm, and Saturday: 10am-5pm. Find your one-of-a-kind gift and OASIS
will wrap it free of charge.
Friday, November 5: 5-8pm, Holiday Opening at OASIS.
Friday, November 12: 6-8pm, Mel Lee in Concert. Mel brings his versions to the stage of those wonderful
traditional songs and ballads you hear every Saturday 9am-noon on Mel Lee's Songbag at WEMC 91.7fm. No cover charge.
December 2010
Friday, December 10: 6-8pm, Nonesuch in Concert. This band brings you delightful arrangements
of American and international roots music played on a bevy of uncommon instruments. Their ballads and dance music
are sometimes sweetly harmonized, other times driving and powerful. All show that fun was had, no matter the century
or the source. No cover charge.
